1998 komatsu pc10-2 mini excavator for sale craigslist. I have a 1998 komatsu pc10-2 mini excavator and i need to sell it asap. Make an offer! Anybody who bought one at or about the same time i did, usually had some kind of issue with it within 10 days and i was expecting something to go wrong too, but aside from a rectified spidercrank bearing missalignment that took 3 minutes to fix, the machine has been perfect since.

I bought this piece of equipment November 2016 from a contractor who was retiring from cleaning businesses in New York City who used it frequently for 5 years to clean out some freight containers for customers (mostly in or around New York City). Well maintained, as you can see from the pictures.

The 1998 komatsu pc10-2 mini excavator maintain requires less engine power, so it has a small fuel consumption and is environmentally friendly

Diesel, canopy, blade, aux hydraulics, 9″ & 24″ bucket, rubber tracks, 1,362 hours. Serial number: 53266. MINI EXCAVATOR Komatsu is the world’s second largest manufacturer and supplier of earthmoving equipment and has been producing mini excavators for over 30 years.

When you purchase Komatsu you know that you are getting a quality product which will lead to you saving money on your company’s bottom line. This mini excavator was manufactured in 1998 and has been sitting in storage for the past 3 years due to the owner of the company retiring.

It was purchased new by this client and utilized as an addition to their fleet on job sites where they needed a small machine to get into tight spaces but not sacrifice power or performance. The new operator can be trained in just a few hours and it is very fuel efficient. This unit is very clean and has been maintained well.

It has never been used in harsh environments such as demolition or scrapyards so it has low hours with no abuse or rust.

1998 komatsu pc10-2 mini excavator maintain uses new technology to meet emissions requirements through electronic control of both fuel injection and air intake

1998 komatsu pc10-2 mini excavator maintain uses new technology to meet emissions requirements through electronic control of both fuel injection and air intake. The new SAA4D95LE-5 engine provides more power (at 25.5 kW) and lower fuel consumption than the previous model. The engine also has a removable exhaust silencer that can be easily replaced, eliminating the need for cleaning. The machine is equipped with an electronic monitoring system that warns the operator of low oil pressure, high water temperature, and overloading of the hydraulic system.

The increased performance of this new compact excavator is matched by improvements in ease of operation and comfort. A new joystick controller was developed especially for the PC10-2 to provide smooth control of all functions, while maintaining a small size and light weight (only 5.5 kg). The hydrostatic transmission has been redesigned to enable smooth operation without shock loads to the drive train during directional changes or start-up The PC10-2 excavator offers a choice of either manual or automatic bucket control modes.

greatly improving operator efficiency. The machine is equipped with three working modes: digging, level control and boom priority.

High-pressure common rail system is used in 1998 komatsu pc10-2 mini excavator maintain, which can make the fuel injection pressure reach 2000 bar for each cylinder, and the injection pressure can be adjusted according to engine load

High-pressure common rail system is used in 1998 komatsu pc10-2 mini excavator maintain, which can make the fuel injection pressure reach 2000 bar for each cylinder, and the injection pressure can be adjusted according to engine load. The high-pressure common rail system can be used to realize multiple injections within one cycle, so that the combustion process can be more fully controlled, which is conducive to reducing emissions, improving power and economy.

The high-pressure common rail system is composed of high-pressure pump, common rail pipe and injector. There are two types of high-pressure pumps: plunger type and rotor type. The plunger type is also divided into single pump and double pump. The plunger type is characterized by a simple structure, which is easy to manufacture with a large flow rate. However, its disadvantage is that the suction noise of the plunger type high pressure pump is very large due to the periodic impact on both sides of the plunger during rotation ,which will affect other devices in the engine room.

Therefore, in order to reduce noise as much as possible, there are many kinds of measures such as noise reduction cavity structure design and installation of damping device on the oil circuit of high pressure pump In order to reduce manufacturing.

1998 komatsu pc10-2 mini excavator maintain uses a four stroke engine with a larger bore and shorter stroke compared with the diesel engine of the same displacement

1998 komatsu pc10-2 mini excavator maintain uses a four stroke engine with a larger bore and shorter stroke compared with the diesel engine of the same displacement. This allows it to turn over faster and develop more power. This also produces a less even firing interval between cylinders, so the engine is noisier than a comparable diesel engine.

Diesel engines generally have lower maximum rpm ratings than gasoline engines. As a result, diesel engines usually have better torque characteristics for a given displacement than gasoline engines. However, this means that diesel engines may have trouble running at high speeds, such as on highways. For this reason, nearly all diesel cars are equipped with turbochargers to increase their maximum power output and top speed.

Diesel cars are very common in Europe because they are more fuel efficient. The complexity of the modern car has increased significantly over time, and this has resulted in significantly longer times required to perform maintenance or repairs. For example, adding air conditioning and an automatic transmission to the typical American car increased maintenance costs by $50 per year and repair costs by $300 per year in 1995.[3] The service manual for most modern cars includes detailed instructions for how and when to perform maintenance tasks.

The 1998 komatsu pc10-2 mini excavator maintain injects fuel directly into the cylinder through high pressure electronic control common rail

high pressure electronic control plunger pump intake system or light mechanical plunger pump intake system, so it not only increases combustion efficiency, but also greatly reduces exhaust pollution to meet emission requirements of all countries in the world.

Komatsu pc10-2 mini excavator(1998) original 2,500 hours. The 1998 komatsu pc10-2 mini excavator maintain injects fuel directly into the cylinder through high pressure electronic control common rail, high pressure electronic control plunger pump intake system or light mechanical plunger pump intake system, so it not only increases combustion efficiency, but also greatly reduces exhaust pollution to meet emission requirements of all countries in the world.

In addition, the 1998 komatsu pc10-2 mini excavator maintain can also be equipped with a combination of electric power and engine drive to meet the needs of different users. At present, the market share of this type of vehicle has reached more than 60%. In order to make the 1998 komatsu pc10-2 mini excavator maintain still strong in such fierce market competition, manufacturers are constantly innovating and improving in product design technology.

For example, some manufacturers have introduced a new generation of vehicles that can be adjusted according to their own conditions. This can not only increase the work efficiency of vehicles when working on different construction projects, but also reduce fuel consumption and extend their service life.

Summary:

Overall, this is an excellent excavator that can be used for a variety of different jobs. My main issue is the vast amount of oil leakage, but this is a fairly common problem with most older Komatsu excavators. I do recommend getting new tie rods, if it’s not replaced already, as I had to replace mine a couple years after the initial purchase (this is expected with any excavator that’s been used).

It has very decent fuel economy which helps a lot when work sites require you to drive long distances to get there. Overall, this is a very nice excavator and at that price point, it will take some serious searching to find something comparable.
